An ophthalmologist will perform a complete medical exam to diagnose retinoblastoma. Imaging tests such as ultrasound, computerized tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can help determine whether retinoblastoma is affecting other areas around the eye.
In diagnosing retinoblastoma, your child's Eye M.D. may refer you to other specialists, such as an oncologist, a surgeon or a genetic counselor.
