Question:
There is a yellowish spot in the left eye of my son. He is eight years old. That spot has been there for six months at least, but it doesn't seem to bother him at all. Should I take him to the eye doctor?

Answer:
Yes, you should take your son to an Eye M.D. to find out what the yellowish spot in his left eye represents. Most such lesions in children are not caused by a serious underlying medical or ocular condition, but evaluation is important to be sure of this.
