Question:
For some time now, when I look at an object and look away I still see an outline of the object. This happens in both eyes. Do you know what causes this?

Answer:
The phenomenon you are describing is called an "afterimage." How afterimage works is not known. It is not harmful. However, if you are experiencing additional symptoms, you should see an ophthalmologist.
