Question:
I have had a toric lens inserted and my vision for distance has not improved. I now have starbursts with oncoming car lights. Is there something better for the other eye? I am 83 and have never worn glasses. I now feel the second cataract on the other eye needs to be removed but don't want the toric lens.

Answer:
A toric lens by itself does not produce starbursts so there may be other issues at work. Please go back and see your ophthalmologist to see what the reason is and to make sure that the lens is oriented in the right position to correct your astigmatism.
