Question:
My 12-year-old son has been prescribed glasses for myopia. If he does not wear his glasses, will his eyes deteriorate further?
Answer:
Clinical consensus is that your son will not develop more refractive error because of his refusal to wear eyeglasses. However, it will be difficult to see far away and school performance could suffer.
