Question:
What are the risks associated with a posterior capsulotomy? I was scheduled to have one but canceled because of what I read on the Internet.

Answer:
Using the YAG laser to do this is not true surgery because no incision is required. Vision-threatening problems are extremely rare and you would be better off trusting your ophthalmologist’s judgment rather than basing your decision on unfiltered Internet information. Raise your concerns with your ophthalmologist.
