Question:
Is non-purulent pink eye contagious?
Answer:
Generally speaking, most non-purulent (no pus) conjunctivitis is not contagious, especially if it has been present for a while. It may be caused by allergies, toxins, fumes, etc. However, some viral conjunctivitises are contagious. Please see your ophthalmologist (Eye M.D.) for an appropriate diagnosis.
