Do you recommend that women remove their eye makeup before either they themselves or a nurse or MD instills eye drops?
The eyelashes are not sterile, and neither is makeup. Why risk the contamination? A skilled professional should be able to instill the drops in a cooperative patient safely, however. Most patients are less experienced and should remove their makeup and wash their hands before instilling eyedrops.
