Question:
Is it safe to smoke marijuana before and after cataract surgery?

Answer:
From a surgical perspective, it is not a good idea to smoke before cataract surgery because it may impair your judgment and ability to follow directions. Also, you may receive sedatives and other types of drugs before or during the surgery which can potentially interact with marijuana in unexpected ways. Smoking after surgery can also prevent you from following the proper post-operative care.
