Question:
Is nerve inflammation present in ischemic optic neuropathy?

Answer:
The optic nerve becomes "inflamed" and damaged in ischemic optic neuropathy. However, this is not the same as inflammatory diseases that cause inflammation or swelling in the optic nerve.
