In routine yearly eye exams for contact lenses, would Fuchs' dystrophy be detected?

Answer:
Fuchs' dystrophy is a condition of the back layer of the cornea, which can lead to clouding of the cornea if progressive. Routine eye exams typically include examination of the cornea, and Fuchs' dystrophy can be detected by normal slit lamp examination. However, findings in earlier stages of the condition are subtle and more difficult to detect.
