Question:
I poked my right eyelid and now it droops over my eye. Can this recover on its own or will it require surgery?
Answer:
To answer this question accurately more information is required. How long ago did you injure your eyelid? Was there a laceration or swelling alone?
If you developed some swelling only, it is possible with time (at least 6 months) that your eyelid position will improve on its own. However in cases of more severe injury, the eyelid position may not improve. Eyelid surgery, ptosis repair, may be indicated to improve your eyelid height.
