Question:
How successful is muscle surgery for esotropia?
Answer:
Muscle surgery (strabismus surgery) for esotropia has a high success rate. The success rate is however dependent on the strength of binocular vision of both eyes; so that once the eyes are aligned surgically, they are able to stay aligned over time.
