Question:
I had cataract surgery on my right eye three weeks ago. It is two days before my cataract surgery on my left eye. I just discovered I have an ear infection in my right ear and am taking Ciprodex antibiotic ear drops. I have no pain or discomfort any longer in my ear. Is it safe to have my cataract surgery done with a recovering ear infection?

Answer:
As long as you don’t have a cough or eye involvement from this infection, it is perfectly reasonable to proceed with cataract surgery.
