Question:
My prescription has changed to add prism because of double vision at times. The doctor says it is a "muscular problem." Are there any exercises I can do to strengthen the eye muscles?
Answer:
Prism is used to correct double vision associated with small eye misalignments. In a few cases patients can try to do eye muscle exercises to improve their capability to self-correct the double vision. The most common use of eye muscle exercises is for convergence insufficiency in which the eyes do not turn in sufficiently for near tasks such as reading or working on a computer.
