I wear hydrogel-based daily contact lenses. I recently found out about silicone hydrogel daily contact lenses. What would be the benefits of switching to the silicone-based lenses?
This falls under the rule of "if it's not broken, then don't fix it." If you are comfortable with your hydrogel lenses, are seeing well and they fit well, there is no reason to switch. Consider the silicone based only if your current lenses are uncomfortable, or you have dryness issues that are hard to deal with.
