Ask an Eye M.D. Answer Archive
Question:
My mother had cataract surgery in both eyes. The left eye is fine, but the right eye tears. The surgery was over a month ago and she has an appointment with her doctor in two weeks. Should I be concerned?
Answer:
If her visual acuity is good, and she has no pain with the tearing, I would not be overly worried. There are several causes of tearing, and her ophthalmologist will be able to diagnose and treat the problem.
