Question:
My eye exam states that vision in my eye is 20/500 and I can't see anything out of it but shadows. If I have cataract surgery how much improvement can I expect from that eye afterward?

Answer:
It depends on whether the rest of the eye is healthy and normal. Other problems within the eye may still limit your vision after cataract surgery. An ophthalmologist must examine your eye in order to attempt to answer your question.
