Question:
The ophthalmologist is having difficulty in getting my contact lens prescription correct with the cataracts. No problem with the new glasses prescription, but when he puts the contacts in, there is a shadow behind the letters. Glasses have always worsened my vertigo, so I much prefer contact lens. Do you have any suggestions?

Answer:
The problem sounds like you may need some astigmatic correction in your contacts or you may need a hard gas permeable lens to further correct your vision when wearing a contact. I would ask your doctor to check to see if your astigmatism is fully corrected in your contact lens prescription.
