I had cataract surgery 4 years ago. One eye has recently become blurry and I have floaters that look like strings across my vision. I feel as though I can feel my eyeball and experience throbbing quite frequently at the bottom of my eye. Could this be serious enough to see my ophthalmologist? I have had great results post-cataract surgery until the last 2 months.

Yes, doesn't this sound serious to you? Any sudden change in the quality of a person's eye sight, pain or discomfort in an eye, the presence of black spots or threads in an eye, flashes of light, or anything else you have never previously experienced should cause a person concern sufficient to request a comprehensive eye examination with their ophthalmologist (Eye M.D.).
