Ask an Eye M.D. Answer Archive
Question:
I have the faint beginnings of a cataract in my left eye. The doctor said cataracts take a long time to develop so they advised me to return in a year. Lately I have a lot of trouble removing my contact lens (gas permeable) in that eye. Would this be connected with the cataract getting worse?
Answer:
No, and if you are over 50 years of age, "the beginnings of a cataract" might be normal aging changes.
