Question:
Three days ago I was involved in a car accident. The air bag deployed and my right eye was left swollen. Today I noticed my eye (white area) is red. Is that something to be concerned about? The ER doctor did the generic eye exam and said he saw nothing wrong.

Answer:
A red splotch on the white of the eye is often an incidental finding in minimal eye trauma. It does indicate that the blow to the eye was strong enough to rupture a blood vessel. I would suggest an examination by your ophthalmologist (Eye M.D.) just to be certain.
