I was told the reason I got dry eye is the lid does not close all the way. What can be done to correct this problem?
Lagophthalmos, or the inability to close the eyes completely, can exacerbate a dry eye. It is suggested that you use artificial tears throughout the day and consider using a gel at night. Additionally you may wish to sleep with a humidifier, use a sleep mask or even tape your lid closed at night. There are surgical procedures that can improve this condition as well. I would suggest that you consult with an Eye M.D. to help you correctly diagnose and treat your condition.
