Can one receive an implantable miniature telescope for macular degeneration (a breakdown of the macula in the back of the eye, which reduces central vision) after having had cataract surgery?
Unfortunately, the device was only approved for implantation in patients who have not had cataract surgery. In fact, the safety of the device has not been studied in patients who have had cataract surgery.
