Question:
Are there certain foods or vitamins that will decrease your chances of getting glaucoma?

Answer:
Whether or not a person develops glaucoma is multifactorial, however, it is NOT related to diet or vitamin supplement. Common predisposing factors include: elevated eye pressure, older age, family history, race, thin corneas, steroid use (especially in eye drop form), prior eye trauma or surgery, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and myopia (nearsightedness).

To determine your risk of eye disease, including glaucoma, have a complete eye exam with your local Eye M.D.
