Question:
My 8-year-old’s eye rejected the intraocular lens (IOL) after cataract surgery and now she wears cataract glasses. Are there any cataract glasses that are thinner than the usual ones?

Answer:
There are optical shops that can get glasses made out of different materials that can be thinner. Try a high-end optical shop and see what they can do. At 8, it would also be possible to start contact lens wear, which used to be common prior to lens implants.
