John W. Kitchens, MD, is an ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon at Retina Associates of Kentucky located in Lexington, Kentucky. Dr. Kitchens graduated with honors from the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Iowa. Following his residency, he completed a retina fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and then served as chief resident, instructor of ophthalmology, and the director of the trauma service at Bascom Palmer.
