Dr. Philip R. Rizzuto

Philip R. Rizzuto, MD, FACS, was appointed secretary for communications in 2012. He previously served as associate secretary for patient education and served on the Patient Education Committee for eight years. He is a past member of the EyeNet Advisory Board, the Committee for State Organizational Development, the Leadership Development Program and the Council. Dr. Rizzuto is also a past president of the Rhode Island Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.

A native New Yorker, Dr. Rizzuto is an ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Providence, R.I., and a clinical associate professor of surgery at Brown University, Warren Alpert Medical School.

Dr. Rizzuto received his undergraduate degree from the University at Albany and his medical degree from the University of Buffalo. He completed his residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and his fellowship at the Kresge Eye Institute in Michigan.
